AARON L. CASTLE

Aaron was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2007 and has been an Attorney with VanOverbeke, Michaud & Timmony since January of 2008.  He has devoted his practice since that time almost exclusively to the field of public sector employee benefits.  He has worked with governmental pension and retiree health care plans across the State of Michigan and has consulted with numerous public sector clients on a variety of complex benefit matters.

Aaron has extensive experience with respect to plan administration, board governance, and fiduciary best practices.  Since 2012, Aaron has also been primarily responsible for preparation, review and negotiation of all investment related contracts for the firm’s clients, as well as qualification of client investments under Public Act 314 of 1965, as amended.

Aaron has recently published two articles in the MAPERS bi-annual PensionScope newsletter entitled:  “Municipal Bankruptcy in Michigan – Mapping the Uncharted Waters” and “Efficiently Exercising Your Fiduciary Responsibility”.
